Welcome to Nutrition Care of Rochester! I am on a mission to help change our children’s future by starting with you.

I am a Registered and Certified Dietitian Nutritionist with a Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition, and hold a Certificate in Childhood and Adolescent Weight Management. A member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, New York State Association of Nutrition and Dietetics, Genesee Dietetic Association, Dietitians in Integrative and Functional Medicine dietetic practice group (DPG), Pediatric Nutrition DPG, Women’s Health DPG, Behavioral Health DPG, and Nutrition Entrepreneurs DPG. In addition, I am a Certified Lactation Counselor and a Breastfeeding USA breastfeeding counselor candidate, but most importantly I am a wife to a wonderfully understanding, hardworking, and selfless man and a mom to two toddlers who are eating machines!

I have years of experience working with children and their parents. Many of these children have autism, intellectual disabilities, ADHD, food allergies or sensitivities, selective eating, and some have weight concerns. While some of these children can’t be cured with a diet, the diet that child was raised on does have a direct effect on their physical and behavioral health. Most importantly, the diet the child was raised on is the one they just expect and the one that they crave; whether that is healthy or unhealthy food. My goal is to educate parents on nutrition and to help them turn their lives around, before they even have children. If you want to prevent disease, promote a long and healthy life, and evade poor mealtime behaviors, then nutrition education is what you need.
Why am I doing this?

I am doing this because I have used everything I have learned on my own children, and they are my greatest testimonials to how I can help others! I provide the healthy food (and treats when the time is right) and they determine if and how much they want to eat. Talking about food and nutrition is common conversation between my 3 year old and I. He is well aware that milk is good for his bones and carrots are good for his eyes. Sometimes he begrudgingly will eat his carrots just because they will help him see in the dark. He is learning mindful eating skills and when he says his tummy is full, we listen. Of course he still gets a no thank you bite because he is 3 after all and will try to avoid certain foods for no justifiable reason at all. My 2-year-old daughter is an avid and enthusiastic eater and she hears us when we talk about food and nutrition too, soon she will make those connections like my son.

They weren’t born like this; they were raised to be this way. If I can say so myself, they are doing a fantastic job!
Who am I doing this for?

I am doing this for your children!
  • To lay a solid foundation for your child’s health.
  • To create healthy family habits that will extend on to your child and eventually their children.
  • To play a role in making future generations smart and successful through good nutrition.
  • Because it is very difficult to reverse habits, it is much easier to prevent them!
  • Because it is difficult as an adult to deal with weight related health and body image issues, that is a lot of pressure for a child.
  • Good eaters aren’t born, they’re raised.

I am doing this for you!
  • To prevent negative outcomes associated with delayed or absent nutrition care before pregnancy and during early pregnancy that is typical of our society.
  • To help you have the optimal outcome of your pregnancy.
  • To help you maintain energy and mood after pregnancy.
  • To help you safely lose weight before or after pregnancy.
  • To give you the best support for your nutrition, breastfeeding, and safe bottle feeding.
  • To get you back in your best health in between pregnancies.
  • Because this is a cycle that will pass on for generations. The change starts with you.
How we work together will be completely individualized and tailored to your needs. This is not cookie cutter treatment and usually is not something that can be taken care of in one visit. It is my vision that Nutrition Care will be seen as preventative care and everyone will be on board to treat these visits as typical, routine healthcare visits. Nutrition is a powerful thing, the food that we put in our body can directly harm us or help us. That isn’t something that should be taken so lightly. This is a new day in age and our children desperately need us to take a different approach and regain control of our health and wellbeing for them.

I am looking so forward to working with you and your family.

Warmest Regards,
Amanda Ronzo, MS, RDN, CLC, CDN
